Hopefully by now, you are well on your way in the Keto Lifestyle and are feeling great. You may have lost some weight and you are hopefully beginning to exercise regularly. Those two things together will make a world of difference.
Today I want to talk about some life lessons. Heaven forbid that you go to the doctor and are told that your life is coming to an end. If that does happen, we all hope that we are in our nineties or even over 100.
But we don’t want that news from the doctor to fill our minds with regret. We want to live our lives to the fullest, and I am going to share some lessons that you can learn now so there will be no regrets at the end.
Let’s get started.
Failures Are Lessons in Disguise
A couple of things here. If we live in our comfort zone our entire life, we may be spared the mistakes. Not a bad thing, you may think. But the problem with staying in our comfort zone, is we never get to experience the thrills of life.
It is during these thrilling experiences that mistakes may happen. If we step out and try a new career, it may not work out. But the learning we will take from that experience will be tremendous.
The failures we will encounter in life will teach us integrity and help us survive the hard times.
Keto is a great example. You won’t be perfect in your quest for ketosis. You will eat some things that you may wish you didn’t. Or you may give=ve in to a craving that you are having. This is not the end of the world. Remember it is what you do most of the time that counts.
As an example, my wife and I were craving fish and chips the other day, so we went out and had some. Lots of carbs to fuel an extended workout the next day. Perfect. Not a failure; a blessing in disguise.
Take a chance; have an adventure; risk a failure; learn from it; repeat!
Live in the Moment
The past is gone. The future is uncertain. So, live in the moment.
That being said, you still need to plan for the future, but don’t obsess over it. Put a plan in place and work toward it, taking those chances we talked about and learning from your mistakes.
Also, if there are things you need to take care of that occurred in the past, deal with them. Then live in the moment.
Get out there and live today. Live in the moment. Be with those that you are with. Put your phone away and live where you are. Trust me, it will be worth it.
Live For Yourself
Be sure you have found your dream and are living your life in pursuit of it. Not your boss’s dream, or even your spouse’s dream. Your dream.
Seek out your passion and desire, and then put a plan in place to reach it.
There may be failures along the way. Learn from them.
It may mean putting aside the external pressures of the world whenever you can and live in the moment.
Remember, you do not want to feel the regret of not having lived for your own dream at the end of your life. On their death beds, people do not wish they had spent more time at work!
Exercise more; eat right; live for today; repeat
Work Hard, But Don’t Work Too Hard
Once you find what your dream is, it will be hard work to get to it. You may need to keep your job AND work for your dream.
Work hard, but at the end of the day, go home and be with those you love. Give them the time they deserve.
Seriously. Work your butt off when you are working, but then stop working and go to the soccer games, or enjoy the Downton Abby marathon.
Live in the moment. Work hard (in the moment); then be with your loved ones (in the moment).
The rewards will be monumental and everlasting!
Procrastination Wastes Your Time
Time is a resource we often overlook. It is limited, and quite easy to waste; more so with today’s social media than ever before. We need to be diligent in our use of our time.
When we procrastinate, you become a slave to the past. We want to live in the present, not the past, but procrastination forces us back into the past.
Resist the urge to procrastinate, and just do what needs to be done. Then it is done. Then we can move on and live in the moment, pursuing our dreams as hard as we can.
Actions Speak Louder than Words
Don’t wait until the end to realize this truth. Don’t just say the words; live the actions.
There is no better time than now to follow through on those things you have been saying you will do.
Start eating better. Try Keto. What have you got to lose?!
Exercise more. What have you got to lose.
Let your words be your guide. If you can talk the talk, you should be able to walk the walk, especially if you are following all the other lessons we have talked about.
Just do the things you said you would do.
Kindness Is So Important
Learn to give more than you receive. Smile at a stranger. Pay for someone’s coffee, or groceries if they have forgotten their wallet. Let the car merge in front of you.
Just be nice! Say nice things and do nice things. Give more and you will be amazed at how much will come back to you.
Start being thankful for all you have. If you look around, you will always find someone who is better off than you. But you will always find someone who is worse off than you. Don’t focus on either of these groups of people.
Focus on you and all the blessings you have. Remember, you are setting a path for your own goal and dream and working your butt off to reach it. Forget about all those around you. Live in the moment. Follow your heart. Be kind.
Nothing too ground breaking today. Just a few reminders that we need to take to heart now, and not wait our entire lives to learn. Whatever path you have chosen, be sure to live in the moment and for yourself and your loved ones.

See you in the next post.
Have a great day!
