  1. How do you incorporate apples, carrots, bananas, and pineapples into a keto diet?

    • Hi David
It is true that apples, carrots, bananas, and pineapple are generally not associated with a keto diet, as they are quite high in sugar and therefore, carbs.
That being said, we cannot discount the health benefits of these foods. Carrots are the easiest, as they have only about 7 grams of carbs per serving, so they can be used as a snack once in a while.
The fruits, on the other hand, are high in sugar (the body reads that as carbs), so should be used sparingly and in small portions.
I like to put pineapple in my smoothie. It is easy to control the portion, and the taste of the pineapple is great. Similarly, half a banana in a smoothie after a workout is a good thing, as the added carbs can assist the muscle in the recovery process.
Apples, if you must have one, can be eaten on occasion. Remember, it is what you do most of the time that counts.
And remember, if your body is craving something, then there is a nutrient in there that the body needs. Have an apple once in a while!
      I hope that helps.
      Tom
