Welcome to the site, or Welcome Back!
I often spend too much time on social media. Sometimes it is valuable research for content on this site. Sometimes it’s playing a game. Sometimes it’s connecting with others to see how we are doing.
Other times it’s looking at cars and dogs and cats on YouTube or Pinterest.
It is on these platforms that you sometimes find some words of encouragement. I don’t often share them her, but today I will.
So whether you are feeling down or not, I trust there is some word of wisdom here to make you smile or pick you up.
Let’s get started!
And remember, Life isn’t tied with a bow, but it is still a gift!
Life and Emotions
Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.
When in doubt, just take the next small step.
Don’t take yourself too seriously. No one else does.
You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
Make peace with your past so it won’t mess with your present.
Life is too short for pity parties. Get busy living, or get busy dying.
You can get through anything if you stay put in today.
No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
Don’t audit life. Show up and make the most of it.
No matter how you feel, get up, dress up, and show up.
Take a deep breath; it calms the mind.
Pay off your credit card every month.
Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
Over-prepare; then go with the flow.
If we threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we would grab ours back.
Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
If you don’t ask, you don’t get.
Cry with someone. It is better than crying alone.
Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
It is OK to let your children see you cry.
Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is about.
If a relationship has to be secret, you shouldn’t be in it.
When it comes to going after what you love in life, never take no for an answer.
The most important sex organ is the brain.
Forgive everyone everything.
What other people think of you is none of your business.
Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick; your friends will. Stay in touch.
Your children only get one childhood. Make it memorable.
All that truly matters in the end, is that you loved.
When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
It’s never too late to have a happy childhood, but the second one is up to you.
A writer writes. If you want to be a writer, write.
Burn the candles; use the nice sheets; wear the fancy lingerie. Don’t save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
Be eccentric now. Don’t wait until old age to wear purple.
Frame every so called disaster with these words: “In five years, will this matter?”
Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
Believe in Miracles.
Whatever doesn’t kill you really does make you stronger.
Growing old beats the alternative – dying young.
Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful, or joyful.
The best is yet to come.
by H. Jackson Brown Jr.
Marry the right person. This one decision will determine 90% of your happiness or misery.
Work at something you enjoy and that’s worthy of your time and talent.
Give people more than they expect, and do it cheerfully.
Become the most positive and enthusiastic person you know.
Be forgiving of yourself and others.
Have a grateful heart.
Persistence, persistence, persistence.
Discipline yourself to save money even on the most modest salary.
Treat everyone you meet like you want to be treated.
Commit yourself to constant improvement.
Commit yourself to quality. Understand that happiness is not based on possessions, power, or prestige, but on relationships with people you love and respect.
Be a self-starter.
Be decisive even if it means you’ll sometimes be wrong.
Stop blaming others. Take responsibility for every area of your life.
Be bold and courageous. When you look back on your life, you’ll regret the things you didn’t do more than the things you did.
Take good care of those you love.
Don’t do anything that wouldn’t make your mom proud.
And above all else…
Do Not Quit!
When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you are traveling seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit –
Rest if you must, but do not quit!
Life is strange with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a person turns about,
When they might have won had they stuck it out,
Do not give up if the pace seems slow –
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a fair and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have taken the victor’s cup,
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out –
The silver lining on the cloud of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar,
So stick to the fight when you are hardest hit –
It is when things seem worst, that you must not quit!
So there you have it.
Some simple words of wisdom to get you through the day.
I have bolded some of the ones that resonated with me.
I hope you found some inspiration in some of these words.
Stay strong. Stay fit.
This too, will pass. Stay the course. Work hard. Love harder.
